Standing reindeer Christmas decorations | hand painted and hand drawn | wooden tree ornament
I've created a limited number of wooden 'joy' reindeer decorations for Christmas 2018 - each one has been given a couple of coats of wood stain, and then I have painted and drawn the decorative details on by hand.
Both sides of the reindeer have been decorated, so that it doesn't matter if they twist whilst hanging on your tree.
The colour palette I used for this year included red, turquoise, gold, black and white, and you can see my original sketches and colour testing in the final image.
There are only three of the standing deer...one each in red, turquoise and gold.
I won't be making any more of these this year, and probably ever - I like the idea of one off designs that won't be replicated, plus it challenges me to come up with a new idea for next Christmas.
Please note that due to the nature of the decorations, they are quite fragile and should be handled gently so as not to damage their beautifully swirly antlers.
Each deer is strung with velvet white ribbon ready to be put straight on the tree and is 9cm x 11cm
